When compression helps most
Scanned documents and PDFs made from phone photos can be several megabytes per page. Compressing re-saves each page at a sensible resolution, which often cuts the size by more than half. PDFs that are mostly typed text are usually small already and may not shrink much.
Questions
Will my text still be selectable?
No. Compressed pages are saved as images, so their text can't be selected or searched. Keep your original if you need that.
Which setting should I pick?
Balanced works for most documents. Use Strong for email attachments with strict limits, and Light when pages need to stay sharp for printing.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything is converted inside your browser, so your files never leave your phone or computer. That makes it safe for IDs, contracts and bank statements.
Can I select the text in the PDF?
Pages from PDFs you add keep their text. Photos, documents, spreadsheets and text files are turned into page images, so they look the same everywhere but their text can't be selected.
Is it free?
Yes, with no sign-up, no watermark and no file limit.
